Ever wanted to educate yourself about SEAT’s wonderful range of cars?
Well just take a look at this very informative video…
And if you were inspired by the above video and would like to buy yourself a SEAT, you can do so at your newest SEAT dealer, Autodynamic SEAT in Ballymount.
This video is long before my time, with me still being a young lad, only born in 1981. But I do remember Dublin looking and feeling like this during my childhood, before the Celtic Tiger years when we were all in the same boat. Sometimes I think we would have been better off without the Celtic Tiger, although they do say it is better to have loved and lost.
Of course the ideal would have been a slow and steady growth rather than the race to the top that we did have, with it’s inevitable crash at the end.
But if you grew up in Dublin you may watch the below video with a great feeling of nostalgia for a Dublin that is now sadly long gone.
This fantastic video is part of an old rte series about Dublin which is very well presented by Eamonn MacThomais.
Some of you might think I’m too young to say it, but I am going to say it anyway, “ah the good old days”.
If you are like me, you are probably unaware of what materials are used in the manufacturing mobiles phones, let alone where they came from. I’m sure most of you were also unaware of the fact that the mining of the minerals used in making mobile phones may also be funding civil war in the Congo.
Well a documentary by director Frank Piasecki Poulsen called ‘Blood in the mobile’ is probably going to change our awareness and hopefully make a change. Maybe it’s time we all start asking questions about how phones are made and where the raw materials are sourced before we buy them.
I know it’s been months since the Farmer slash Panda algorithm update at Google, but I recently came across this video from SEO MOZ video that I think sums up it very well….
The video hints at the fact that old SEO methods are probably becoming some what redundant. No longer is it good enough to just do keyword research, use those keywords in the correct way on the pages and build links to those pages. Thanks to Panda, content is now really king!
Not only do we have the Panda updates, but now we have the new Google+ feature where users can +1 results in google and also +1 pages which contain the button. I’ll also do a seperate post on the new Google circles feature, Google’s answer to Facebook.
Now us SEO people have to think about the user experience more and more and come up with fresh, new, interesting content to keep the visitors coming back. Maybe SEO people will now have to become ‘good user experience people’.
Well now you can put your ‘first thing on a Monday Morning’ look to good use and take part in a charity walk on 23rd July 2011, 2pm St. Stephens Green!
To be more specific, this is your chance to dress up as the living dead when it’s not even Halloween! This fantastic idea is in aid of the Irish Cancer Society & The RNLI and quite frankly, sounds like a great day out.
Who would have ever thought we would have an Irish film starring Don Cheadle?
At least he is not trying to do an Oirish accent, although now I’m curious as to how successful he might have been at it considering his accent in Ocean 11.
Well I’m sure Gleeson won’t disappoint in this one and it looks to be full of laughs. I bet you Colm Meaney was the second choice for this role.
Did you know that some sports scientists now believe that running in modern footwear can actually weaken you feet. According to edge-science.com:
studies as far back as 1987 suggesting that injuries of the lower extremities are substantially higher in people that wear shoes compared to those that don’t.
More recently, there has been an increase in the amount of in depth research in this area, and surprisingly it almost conclusively concludes that running shoes offering structure and cushioning are a large cause of injuries due to weakened structures and higher impact forces.
In response, companies like www.barefoot.ie are offering what looks like rubber outer skins for your feet, or barefoot shoes if you like. And now if you would like to try some of these barefoot shoes for yourself, you can now do so at their upcoming barefoot running clinic… http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=238260906189767
